Dr. Léa Boillereaux – Postdoctoral Researcher

Léa Boillereaux received her Doctorate in Mechanical and Civil Engineering from the University of Montpellier, France, in 2025. She is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Chair of Autonomous Systems and Mechatronics, FAU Erlangen–Nürnberg, where she joined in January 2026. She began her doctoral studies in October 2021 at the LMGC (Laboratory of Mechanics and Civil Engineering) and LIRMM (Laboratory of Computer Science, Robotics and Microelectronics of Montpellier). Her doctoral research, conducted within the FHU Regenhab project, was supervised by Prof. Franck Jourdan, CNRS Research Director Abderrahmane Kheddar, and Prof. Simon Le Floc’h, and focused on “Development of a knee orthosis for modulation of joint forces during squats: optimization, evaluation, and interactions with the skin.”

She received her Engineering degree in General Mechanics from Sigma Clermont (INP Clermont Auvergne) in 2021, following two years of preparatory classes in mathematics, physics, and engineering sciences in Angers, France. Her final-year engineering internship was conducted at Segula Technologies in collaboration with IMT Mines Alès and focused on experimental evaluation of boundary conditions applied to a femoral prosthesis during cycling.

Research interests: biomechanics, medical device design, experimental evaluation of human–device interaction, robotic test bench, orthoses and exoskeletons, rehabilitation, motion analysis
