Theodoros Balougias is a doctoral candidate of Biomechanical Motion Analysis and Creation (BioMAC) group at the Chair of Autonomous Systems and Mechatronics in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Information Technology at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg since September, 2025. He is currently working on the EmpkinS’s subproject Personalization of musculoskeletal models, movement analyses and simulations

Theodoros Balougias received his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the National Technical University in 2022 and his master’s degree in Translation Engineering in Health and Medicine from the National Technical University in 2024. His current primary research involves using trajectory optimization simulations to reproduce human gait. Specifically, he focuses on identifying the body segment inertial parameters (BSIPs) of individuals by analyzing their motion and ground reaction force data, a process analogous to system identification in robotics.
