On December 4–5 2025, FAU hosted the 3rd International Conference on Integrated Systems in Medical Technologies. The conference was organized by the Institute for Factory Automation and Production Systems (FAPS) with the support of IEEE. Prof. Beckerle was part of the organizing committee and served as Publication Chairman.
The conference brought together researchers and practitioners from academia and industry to exchange insights on recent advances in medical technologies and integrated systems. The event provided an excellent platform for interdisciplinary dialogue and collaboration.
We also had the pleasure of welcoming Prof. Dr. Roger Gassert to our laboratories, where we had engaging discussions on current research challenges and future developments in the field of assistive robotics and medical technologies.
A further highlight was the presentation by our outstanding Master’s Graduate, Torsten Licht, who discussed our research on a wearable vision system for terrain classification in gait assistance, developed in collaboration with Prof. Dr. Vasileios Belagiannis – Chair of Multimedia Communications and Signal Processing at FAU. The work demonstrates promising approaches to enhancing mobility support through intelligent perception and assistive technologies.
Thank you FAPS team for the excellent organization and support and looking forward to future collaborations and the next edition of the conference!
